Joe Baker, Jr., FBON Executive Director, and Sherri Sutton-Johnson, FBON Director of Nursing Education, recently visited the Investigative Services Unit (ISU) – Orlando office. ISU investigates complaints against health care practitioners. Joe & Sherri were able to discuss the caseload being staffed by this field office as well as ways the Board of Nursing can assist with the disposition of cases. They also attended the Quality and Unity in Nursing (QUIN) Council meeting where Senate Bill 1036 was included on the agenda as an item of discussion. This legislation will become law on July 1st as Chapter 2014-92, Laws of Florida. The legislation contains several changes for the nursing education community and a CE waiver option for nursing licensees.
