Q: Where can I find information on educational programs? Which schools are accredited or approved?

A: Our Education Unit works hard to provide all information regarding educational programs to the public. We have lists of all CNA, LPN and RN programs in Florida as well as their current status (Approved, Accredited, Probation, etc.) and you can search these lists by county, program name or degree offered.

We also post quarterly pass rates for all programs so you can see how the schools are performing. Our reports show exam passage rates for Florida as well as all states. You can see the national average pass rate for the past 5 years and a breakdown of tester statistics.

Visit our Education page to learn more.

Q: Where do I find the current Nurse Practice Act?

A: The Nurse Practice Act (Chapter 464, Part 1, Florida Statutes) can be found on the Board website on the Resources page. The Practice Act and all of the Board’s rules can be located under “Florida Statutes & Administrative Codes” or follow this link: https://floridasnursing.gov/resources/. The Nurse Practice Act covers LPN, RN, & ARNP roles and responsibilities. Chapter 464, Part 2, Florida Statutes, is the law under which CNAs are governed.

If you are unable to locate what you are looking for, simply type the search term in the box on the upper right corner of our website. For any specific questions, you may also contact the board office via email at Info@FloridasNursing.gov or phone at 850.245.4125.

Q: I need to complete an application by mail. Where can I get a paper application?

A: If you are unable to apply online, you can download a PDF application and mail the completed copy to the board. All versions of our applications can be found on our Resources page, under “PDF Applications”.
