Upcoming License Renewals
With license renewal deadlines looming, nursing professionals are advised to circle crucial upcoming dates on their calendars. All of them fall during the Spring and Summer months: Registered Nurses (RNs) and Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) have three separate expiration dates; Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) have two. - The renewal period for the first group of RNs and ARNPs is currently open, as their licenses are set to expire on April 30, 2017. (Renewal notices were mailed out on January 31.) Upcoming expiration dates for RN/ARNPs are April 30 and July 31 of 2018.
- The current group of Certified Nursing Assistants up for renewal will be expiring May 31, 2017. (Renewal notifications were mailed out on February 24.) The next expiration date for CNAs is May 31, 2018.
- Licensed Practical Nurses’ credentials will expire on July 31, 2017. Approximately 90 days prior to the expiration date, information on how to renew will be mailed to the address of record.
Are You Renewal Ready? Webinars
The Division of Medical Quality Assurance’s Licensure Support Services (LSS) unit offers free webinars – otherwise known as online seminars – designed to keep practitioners on time and up to date in regard to maintaining their credentials.
If you have questions regarding Continuing Education (CE) requirements or the license renewal process, LSS invites you to participate in a free informative webinar hosted by the Florida Department of Health. Participants will receive updated information and get answers to important questions regarding the license renewal process and Continuing Medical Education (CME) requirements specific to Registered Nurses/ARNPs, Licensed Practical Nurses, and Certified Nursing Assistants.
The webinars are approximately 30 to 45 minutes long and scheduled according to Eastern Standard Time (EST). Participants are allowed to ask questions at the end of the presentation. To register for an upcoming webinar, please visit:
