Gov. Scott Appoints Six to Board of Nursing

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott announced the reappointment of three and the appointment of three to the Board of Nursing.

Kathryn Whitson, 53, of Jacksonville, is a nursing education specialist for the Mayo Clinic. Whitson received her master of science in nursing from Florida State University. She is reappointed for a term beginning October 27, 2017, and ending October 31, 2019.

Fran Paschall, of Fort Lauderdale, is the chief nurse executive for the East Florida Division of HCA. Paschall received her doctor of nursing practice from American Sentinel University. She fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning October 27, 2017, and ending October 31, 2020.

Dr. Derrick Glymph, 44, of Pembroke Pines, is a clinical assistant professor at Florida International University. Dr. Glymph received his doctor of nurse anesthesia practice from Virginia Commonwealth University. He is reappointed for a term beginning October 27, 2017, and ending October 31, 2020.

Lisa Renee Johnson, 39, of Fort Myers, is a nurse educator at Rasmussen College. Johnson received her master of science in nursing from Walden University. She is reappointed for a term beginning October 27, 2017, and ending October 31, 2019.

Diane Johnson, 58, of Saint Augustine, is the university department chair at Keiser University. Johnson received her master of science in nursing from the University of Phoenix. She succeeds Anna Hubbard and is appointed for a term beginning October 27, 2017, and ending October 31, 2020.

Heather Baumwald, 46, of Fort Lauderdale, is a cardiology sales specialist for Zoll Medical. Buamwald received her bachelor’s degree in business from Florida State University. She fills a vacant seat and is appointed for a term beginning October 27, 2017, and ending October 31, 2019.

These appointments are subject to confirmation by the Florida Senate.
