The Florida Board of Nursing mourns the passing of one of its longest serving members, Dr. Jody B. Newman of Clermont, on January 10, 2022.  She was appointed as a consumer member on the Board in 2009 and served as both Board Chair and Education Committee Chair for many years.  Her service to the people of Florida and nursing regulation will be remembered and is appreciated.  Our thoughts are with her family.  “Dr. Newman was a thoughtful and caring person who served us so well as a Board member.  She will be missed and we so appreciate her hard work and dedication during her nearly 12 years of service”, commented Joe Baker, Jr., the Board’s Executive Director.
